Why True-Scale-Solar was born

It all started with my six-year-old daughter. Since she was little, I’ve been teaching her about the cosmos, and I’m incredibly proud that she can name all the planets in order.

One day, I wanted her to truly feel the staggering contrast between the massive Jupiter and our tiny Earth. I searched online for a solar system model kit built to true scale, but the results were disappointing. On platforms like Amazon, you can only find toys with incorrect proportions. While they might serve an educational purpose in demonstrating planetary orbits, their scales are completely wrong.

That’s when the idea struck me: I would design a planetary scale model myself. My requirements were simple but strict:

  1. True Scale: Diameters must be reduced according to a precise, consistent ratio.
  2. Authentic Texture: Visual details must be as realistic as possible.
  3. Aesthetic Appeal: It should be a beautiful piece of art for any desk.

Now, I can finally show my daughter: Earth can actually fit inside Jupiter’s Great Red Spot, and the Moon can fit within the Cassini Division of Saturn’s rings. This set now sits prominently on her bookshelf.

The final result is this 1:2,000,000,000 scale solar system model. I’m now sharing it with everyone who shares this passion. I hope you love it as much as we do!
